Hello, my name is Olivia Tobin - the photographer behind Cute as a Button Photography.

For me, newborn photography is far more than a profession. It is a passion that began with my own children and has grown into a career spanning more than 13 years, dedicated to preserving the earliest and most precious moments in a family's life.

Where My Journey Began

Like many parents, I quickly discovered just how fast babies grow.

When my own children were born, I found myself constantly reaching for the camera, trying to capture every tiny detail before it changed. Their tiny hands wrapped around my finger. Their sleepy smiles. The little expressions that appeared and disappeared in a matter of days.

It was through photographing my own babies that my love for newborn photography truly began.

Today, as a parent of three, I understand how quickly those early weeks pass and how important it is to preserve them. I know firsthand the value of having beautiful photographs that allow you to revisit those precious moments long after the newborn stage has become a distant memory.

Over 13 Years of Experience in Newborn Photography

For more than 13 years, I have had the privilege of photographing hundreds of babies and families, helping parents capture memories that they will treasure forever.

Throughout my career, I have invested heavily in professional training and education, learning from some of the world's leading international newborn photographers. This specialist training has allowed me to refine both my artistic skills and my understanding of newborn safety.

Newborn photography is a highly specialised area of photography. It requires patience, knowledge, experience, and above all, a deep respect for the wellbeing of every baby who enters the studio.

As a professional newborn photographer and a parent myself, there is nothing more important than your baby's safety.

Every session is completely baby-led, meaning I work around your baby's comfort, feeding schedule, and individual needs. There is never any pressure to achieve a particular pose if it is not suitable for your baby.

Many of the beautiful newborn images you see online are created using safe posing techniques and, where necessary, composite editing methods that prioritise your baby's wellbeing at every stage.

My training, experience, and ongoing education ensure that safety remains at the heart of every session.
